At around 11:20 p.m. on February 11, the Watauga Police Department, Watauga Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene of a vehicle collision on Denton Highway.
Reports provided by authorities show that a white pickup truck and an 18-wheeler collided on Denton Highway in the area near Starnes Road. The pickup truck became trapped under the cab of the tractor-trailer.
Firefighters responded to the scene and worked to extricate the driver of the pickup truck.
Watauga rendered aid to the victim while at the scene before transporting them to a local hospital.
The Watauga Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
