Taylor, TX - Man Dies in Head-On Tractor-Trailer Crash on Main St

Taylor, TX (February 23, 2024) - A man was killed following a head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer in the Taylor area on Wednesday, February 21. The fatal accident occurred on S. Main Street that afternoon at around 2:34 p.m. Local reports revealed that 71-year-old James Russell Grenwelge of Hearne was driving on the road when he crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer. 

Grenweldge was pinned between the vehicles and was found unresponsive by emergency responders. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The area was temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to clear the site of the resulting wreckage. 

At this time, no additional injuries have been reported. No additional information is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash.
