San Antonio, TX (March 24, 2024) - Early on Friday, March 22, an off-duty deputy was hurt after a collision in the San Antonio area. The accident occurred at the 300 block of North San Gabriel Avenue that morning around 11:45 a.m. The victim was riding a motorcycle helping to lead a funeral procession when he was hit by a motor vehicle.
The deputy was ejected and hit the roadway where he suffered head injuries. The woman driving the white car was not hurt. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to render aid. The injured rider was taken to University Hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. At this time, no updates on the condition of the injured party have been provided. No charges have been filed related to the accident. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be released as it continues.
