San Antonio, TX - Child Fatally Hit in Driveway on Sunlit Brook

San Antonio, TX (March 25, 2024) - A child was killed after being hit by a car in a driveway in the San Antonio area on Saturday, March 23. The deadly crash occurred at the 5400 block of Sunlit Brook that afternoon at around 4:15 p.m. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene after being notified of the incident. 

The 11-year-old victim was standing in the driveway when an older relative, another juvenile, attempted to drive a family member’s Toyota Corolla that was parked. The juvenile did not have a license nor experience driving a car. It was later revealed that the driver thought they were in reverse when they hit the accelerator, drove forward, and hit the victim. A family member attempted to render and transported the victim to University Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
