The deadly accident was reported at the intersection of SW 4th Street and S. Columbia at around 2 p.m. It was reported that a man from Matador was crossing at the intersection when he collided with an 18-wheeler. The man was transported to a hospital in Covenant and later pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
