Nevada, TX - Driver Killed in School Bus Crash at FM 6 & Discovery Dr

Nevada, TX (March 1, 2024) - A driver was killed and a passenger hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Nevada area on Thursday, February 29. That morning at around 8 a.m., the crash took place at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 6 and Discovery Drive. Local reports indicated that the driver of a sport utility vehicle made an unsafe left turn and collided with a Community Independent School District bus. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render the necessary medical aid. The driver was transported to Baylor of Lakepoint in Rowlett, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The passenger was treated by paramedics at the scene and later released. 

There were children onboard the bus at the time of the crash, but no one else was hurt. No further information on the deadly accident has been provided at this time. Local authorities are handling the ongoing investigation into the fatal crash, and more updates will be provided as they become available.
