Midland, TX - New Mexico Man Dies in Crash with Dump Truck on TX-158

Midland, TX (February 29, 2024) - A New Mexico man was killed following a crash that took place in the Midland area on Monday, February 26. The fatal accident took place on TX-158 near County Road 1150 early that morning. Local reports indicated that the 36-year-old driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling on the road when he failed to yield to an oncoming dump truck operated by a 33-year-old Odessa man. 

The two vehicles collided at the scene. The impact caused the pickup to leave the roadway, where it collided with a utility pole. A passenger in the pickup suffered fatal injuries in the impact.

The deceased party was later identified as Zachary Rogers of Tucumcari. No other injuries have been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be provided as it continues.
