Longview, TX - Driver Arrested in Deadly DUI Crash on Hope Dr

Longview, TX (February 27, 2024) - A local man is in custody after a fatal pedestrian crash in the Longview area on Saturday morning, February 24. The deadly accident was reported at 500 block of West Hope Drive at around 1 a.m. A pedestrian was traveling along the roadway when they were hit by a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Lantz Darensbourg of Longview. 

Darensbourg was reportedly traveling westbound when he left the road and hit the victim, who was traveling on foot. The injured party was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld. 

Local authorities later determined that Darensbourg was intoxicated at the time of the deadly accident. He has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter. No further updates on the fatal crash are currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
