The highways of Texas are filled with large commercial rigs, and these vehicles can cause utter devastation in the event of a crash. In the United States, there are about 500,000 collisions involving 18-wheelers each year, and there are over 5,000 fatal semi-truck accidents reportedly annually. You may be able to pursue a claim for damages if you were injured in a trucking accident. Personal injury claims involving 18-wheeler crashes are often more challenging than a typical collision. This is partly because 18-wheeler drivers and the companies that hire them are subject to both state and federal laws and regulations. As a result, your lawyer will need to consider both Texas law and any relevant federal statutes when pursuing an 18-wheeler accident claim. The commercial transportation market in the United States is crucial to the functioning of the economy. These large companies have a team of trained attorneys intended to prevent paying out injury claims and shift the focus away from the company. This means you are already starting off at a disadvantage when you pursue a claim against a large trucking company. A Texas truck accident lawyer with knowledge and resources is required to handle your claim and make sure you have the legal backing you need.
