There are many dangers on the road, no matter how you get around. Sadly, pedestrians are much more likely to suffer life-changing injuries in the event of a car accident. Statistics show that more than 8,000 pedestrians are killed each year on American roadways, and the number continues to grow with each passing year. A total of 922 pedestrians lost their lives in Texas in 2022. Shockingly, an estimated one out of five roadway deaths in the state that year involved a pedestrian. Pedestrian deaths have increased by nearly 30 percent in the Lone Star State in the past five years. If you or someone close to you is hurt as a pedestrian, you may be able to pursue a claim for compensation with the help of a trained attorney.
