Houston, TX - Pursuit Ends in Pileup Injury Crash on Sam Houston Pkwy

Houston, TX (March 21, 2024) - On Wednesday, March 20, a police chase in the Houston area ended in a multi-vehicle collision with injuries. The crash was reported at the 10100 block of W. Sam Houston Parkway NB after a 20-minute chase that started at the 3600 block of TX-610 SB that afternoon. A driver of a black Chevrolet Impala with paper license plates ran a red light, prompting authorities to attempt to pull the mover. 

The driver failed to stop and a chase ensued. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed and overturned on the Beltway. The man and woman traveling in the Chevy were injured. A third party in a nearby vehicle was also hurt and hospitalized for treatment. The jaws of life were used to extricate someone from an overturned vehicle. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
