Texas Fatal Semi-Truck-Pedestrian Accidents
Compared to other drivers, commercial truck drivers must go through more rigorous background checks, extensive training, and supervised driving. Nonetheless, despite their education and experience, semi-truck drivers are still capable of making critical errors. Pedestrians almost always lose when a large truck makes a mistake and causes a serious crash. A total of 569 non-occupants, such as bicycles and pedestrians, were involved in fatal accidents in 2019 involving heavy trucks.
