The deadly accident took place at the intersection of US-259 and Farm to Market Road 850 early that morning. It was reported that an oil tanker was headed southbound as a pickup truck traveled east on FM 850. The driver of the pickup did not stop at a stop sign and crashed into the rear of the tanker.
The impact caused the truck to spin out before coming to a rest in the grass. The driver of the pickup sustained fatal injuries.
The oil tanker operator was transported to a hospital in Tyler for treatment. The identities of the involved parties have been withheld.
