The deadly accident took place on TX-115 near Bluebell Road at around 11 a.m. Local reports indicated that a 59-year-old DeKalb man was headed north on the highway as a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling ahead of him. 

The Chevy was slowing down to make a turn when the 18-wheeler crashed into the rear of the sedan. The impact caused the Impala to enter southbound traffic where a 2016 Honda Civic hit it. 

The driver and passenger in the Chevrolet suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The driver of the Civic was transported to the University of Texas in Tyler for treatment of sustained injuries. The identities of the involved parties have been withheld. 

Local authorities are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
