Sharing the road with a large truck can be an anxiety-inducing experience, and most drivers know the devastation that can result from a commercial vehicle accident. Texas is a state with a high number of serious trucking collisions, and large trucks travel billions of miles on the state’s highways each year. According to statistics from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), there were 5,846 semi-truck crashes with injuries in the state in 2022. This is more than twice as many as California, which has the second-highest number of deadly semi-truck crashes in the nation.
The aftermath of an 18-wheeler crash is never easy. These types of accidents are known to result in devastating injuries and other damages, and those traveling in smaller passenger cars are more likely to suffer the brunt of the impact. It can be hard to pursue recovery on your own, considering that most people are unfamiliar with the law, and semi-truck injury cases involve unique regulations. You need someone on your side who has handled these types of cases before to make sure you can get the best possible outcome for your case.
After being injured in a semi-truck accident, you are not just going up against the truck driver. The company that employs the trucker may have played a role in your accident, or even a third-party parts manufacturer. You need to ensure that no stone is left unturned in your pursuit of compensation. A trained personal injury lawyer will know how to get you the best possible outcome for your case.
