Eastland, TX - Minnesota Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Co Rd 237

Eastland, TX (March 1, 2024) - A two-vehicle crash in the Eastland area on Thursday, February 29, resulted in the death of a Minnesota man. The fatal accident was reported on County Road 237 at around 4:58 p.m. Local sources indicated that 71-year-old Mark Allen Jewett from Waseca, MN was riding a 1985 Honda VT-700 motorcycle when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. 

A 2024 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Terry Lee Rose was traveling southbound when the driver failed to yield to Jewett as he was making a left turn. This resulted in a serious collision. Emergency responders were rushed to the scene to render immediate aid. 

Despite life-saving measures. Jewett sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more details will be provided as it continues.
