The deadly accident was first reported on TX-214 near Ranch Road 2056 on the night of August 15 at around 6:30 p.m. It was reported that a semi-truck was headed north on the highway when it attempted to make a left turn at the intersection. At that time, a 55-year-old was driving south in another vehicle.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection. The driver of the passenger car suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 60-year-old woman, was transported to Yoakum County Medical Center in critical condition. She later succumbed to his injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the collision. The identities of the deceased parties have been withheld.
