Dallas, TX - Two Pedestrians Fatally Hit by Driver on Military Pkwy

Dallas, TX (April 29, 2024) - Two pedestrians were killed after being hit by an alleged drunk driver in the Dallas area on Sunday, April 28. The deadly accident was reported at the 6700 block of Military Parkway near Jim Miller Road early that morning around 5 a.m. Local reports revealed that 23-year-old Joel Rosales-Perez was heading eastbound on Military when he left the road. 

Rosales-Perez hit a nearby vehicle and two people standing outside it. The driver then attempted to re-enter the roadway before hitting a utility pole. Both the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the deceased victims was later identified as 21-year-old Lester Matute-Urquea. The identity of the other victim has been withheld. Rosales-Perez was charged with two counts of intoxicated manslaughter. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
