Corpus Christi, TX - Woman, Child Killed in Crash with Semi on US-281

Corpus Christi, TX (May 19, 2023) - A two-vehicle collision in the Corpus Christi area on Tuesday, May 16, left two people dead. 

The fatal crash occurred on US-281 near County Road 116 when a 72-year-old woman driving a GMC Terrain collided with a semi-trailer. Two children riding in the rear seat of the vehicle were ejected, and a 10-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital in Corpus Christi, where she was later pronounced dead. 

The front seat passenger of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in Alice in serious condition. No additional information has been provided at this time. 

Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
