Cibolo, TX - West Columbia Man Killed in Crash with Semi at I-10 & FM 465

Cibolo, TX (January 3, 2024) - On Monday, January 1, a West Columbia man was killed after colliding with an 18-wheeler in the Cibolo area. The fatal accident was reported on Interstate 10 EB near Farm to Market Road 465. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, and all lanes were closed. 

Local reports revealed that 59-year-old Paul Anthony Briggs of West Columbia was traveling down the interstate when he lost control of the vehicle and re-entered traffic to regain control. He came to a stop in an outside lane when he was hit by an oncoming 18-wheeler. 

Briggs suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. No additional information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be released as it progresses.
