The fatal accident took place on Interstate 35 EB at around 12:45 a.m. It was reported that an 18-wheeler collided with a passenger vehicle on the interstate, and the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire. Four people involved in the crash sustained fatal injuries. Three others were hospitalized for treatment.
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is in progress.
