The driver was arrested for unrelated warrants. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
There is a level of risk when a pedestrian shares the road with a large motor vehicle. Unfortunately, it can be very risky to walk on Texas streets. With 7,388 pedestrian fatalities reported on Texas roadways in 2021, the state has one of the highest rates of pedestrian fatalities in the nation. The number of pedestrian deaths in the state has increased by about 70 percent since 2010, and one out of every five traffic fatalities on Texas roadways is believed to involve a pedestrian. If a loved one is killed in an unexpected pedestrian accident, you need to be sure you are ready to take legal action by partnering with a trained attorney.
Losing a loved one in an accident is never easy, and it gets considerably harder if you later find out that it was caused by someone else's reckless behavior. Given the increased likelihood of severe or even fatal injuries from pedestrian crashes, it is even more important that you understand your legal rights during this trying time. The person at fault must be held liable in the event of a fatal pedestrian collision. Families are usually left to pick up the pieces, so you need a skilled lawyer with a track record of winning instances involving wrongful death. This will be the most effective method for pursuing justice and defending your legal rights.
