Austin, TX (February 23, 2024) - One person was killed and several others injured after a car crashed into an emergency room in the Austin area on Tuesday, February 20. The deadly accident occurred at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center on N. Mopac Expressway at around 5:30 p.m. The driver had to be pulled from the wreckage by emergency responders.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. At least five others were hurt in the crash, including two children. One of the juvenile victims was in critical condition. The two injured children and an adult victim were transported to Dell Children's Medical Center for treatment.
The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. At this time, the identities of the involved parties have not been released. No additional information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
