Vinton, TX - Pedestrian Fatally Hit by 18-wheeler on I-10

Vinton, TX (April 15, 2024) - On Saturday, April 13, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a semi-truck in the Vinton area outside of El Paso. The fatal crash occurred on Interstate 10 WB late that night around 8 p.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of a serious pedestrian accident. 

Local reports revealed that the victim was on foot when an oncoming 18-wheeler hit them. The circumstances leading to the accident have not been provided at this time. The interstate was closed in both directions near N. Desert Boulevard while emergency responders were present. Despite aid from responding paramedics, the injured party suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim has not been provided at this time. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
