Arlington, TX - Motorcyclist Rafael Herrera Jr., 38, Dies in Collision on Collins St

Arlington, TX (March 17, 2024) - On Friday, March 15, a motorcyclist was killed following a two-vehicle collision in the Arlington area. The deadly accident was reported at the 1400 block of S. Collins Street early that morning at around 1:15 a.m. Local paramedics were rushed to the scene after being notified of a motorcycle-vehicle crash. 

When emergency crews arrived, they found the rider, a 38-year-old man, lying unresponsive on the roadway. He suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased party was later identified as Rafael Herrera Jr. of Arlington. It was later reported that Herrera was traveling northbound on a motorcycle when he was hit by a 2022 Nissan Altima, making a turn onto the street from a parking lot. The rider was thrown from the bike. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with responding authorities. Local authorities are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident.
