Three or more vehicles collided at the scene. Four people were hurt as a result of the collision. Two victims sustained serious injuries, and another was hospitalized for minor injuries. A fourth victim refused treatment. All lanes were closed while emergency crews worked to clear the area of the resulting wreckage. The area was later reopened to outside traffic some hours later. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Car Accidents in Texas
Every year, Texas has a large number of catastrophic collisions. Nearly 290 billion miles were driven on Texas roads by drivers in 2022, and crashes caused an estimated $55,900,000,000 in economic damages. This is an increase of more than 1.66 percent from 2021. Someone is hurt on the road every two minutes and nine seconds, and every 55 seconds, a crash is reported somewhere in the state. There were over 244,000 injuries and 4,481 fatalities on roadways across the Lone Star State in 2021. This means nearly one fatal vehicle collision takes place every hour and 55 minutes. Dealing with the aftermath of a serious crash is never easy, and pursuing a personal injury claim alone without the help of an attorney can potentially damage your case.
