Lubbock, TX - Pedestrian Dies in Crash at Frankford Ave & 4th St

Lubbock, TX (March 15, 2024) - A pedestrian was killed after a traffic accident in the Lubbock area on Tuesday, March 12. The fatal accident occurred at the corner of Frankford Avenue and 4th Street early that morning. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render aid to the involved parties. 

The victim was traveling on foot when they were hit by an oncoming motor vehicle. Despite life-saving measures from attending paramedics, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased party was later identified as 36-year-old Desirae Ortiz. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. Local authorities are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
