Vidor, TX - Injuries in Deadly Head-on Crash on I-10

Vidor, TX (March 13, 2024) - A fiery collision in the Vidor area resulted in fatal injuries on Monday, March 11. The deadly accident was reported in Orange County on Interstate 10 near mile marker 861 early that morning at around 11:15 a.m. Local reports indicated that a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck and another vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. 

The 2500 truck and a gold Nissan Murano were headed westbound when the 1500 pickup entered oncoming traffic and crashed into both vehicles. The driver of the 2500 truck, 62-year-old Javier Munoz of Houston, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 53-year-old Dolores Munoz of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 1500 pickup, identified as 60-year-old James Wyatt of Orange, was also killed in the impact. No updates on the conditions of the occupants of the Nissan have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
