Johnson City, TX - Pedestrian Dies in Accident on US-281

Johnson City, TX (February 26, 2024) - On Friday evening, February 23, a pedestrian was killed following a traffic accident in the Johnson City area. The fatal accident was reported at the 2600 block of US-281 late that night at around 8:30 p.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene after reports of a pedestrian-vehicle collision. 

A 23-year-old pedestrian was crossing the roadway when they were hit by an oncoming motor vehicle. The injured party was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver involved at the scene remained at the scene and attempted to render aid to the victim.
