Texas Motorcycle Accidents

McAllen, TX - Woman on Motorcycle Hurt by Semi-Truck at Tamarack Ave & 10th StRiding a motorcycle is far from safe, and statistics show that a motorcyclist is killed every day on Texas roadways. There were 562 riders who were killed in motorcycle crashes in the state in 2022, and a total of 2,422 people suffered injuries in the accidents. This is a significant increase from the 458 motorcycle deaths reported in the state in 2013. Motorcycle accidents are becoming increasingly fatal, with recent statistics showing that the fatality rate in motorcycle crashes shot up 12 percent from 2017 to 2021. A motorcycle crash can change your life in a matter of seconds, and despite what many people believe, riders are often not responsible for serious car accidents that take place on Texas roadways. Motorcycles are much smaller than other vehicles on the road, meaning that they can be harder to spot. When a vehicle as large as a semi hits a rider, the outcome can be outright devastating for those involved. Motorcyclists have to follow important rules of the road, just like any other driver. However, when a reckless motorist causes a serious car accident that results in the death or injury of an innocent rider, the at-fault party should be held accountable.
