Letter Regarding Coronavirus Pandemic

March 17, 2020

To our valued Clients and Friends,

As we all face the uncertainty of the Coronavirus, we extend our thoughts and prayers to those who have been personally affected by this pandemic.  During this critical period, it is incumbent on each of us to take care of each other to ensure the health and safety of our families, friends, colleagues and communities.  We are all committed to “flattening the curve” as your well-being is of paramount importance to our firm.

As we continue to follow the developing stories and learn more about the COVID-19 virus, I wanted to personally assure you that we remain committed and dedicated to providing you with the highest level of legal services during these uncertain times.

As of now, our office remains open; however, we are discouraging in-person meetings unless they are essential to the progress of your case. We will be offering alternate meeting methods including video and telephone conferencing and electronic document signing. Utilizing these methods, we will still be able to handle all case related activities seamlessly including new client consultations, client meetings and phone calls, discovery conferences and client disbursements. Should we be forced to close our office, we have robust technology in place to securely access our client files from home and will continue working on your case with the same level of professionalism and with the highest standards you deserve.

On March 13, the Texas Supreme Court issued its first emergency order regarding the COVID-19 State of Disaster, empowering Texas Courts to modify or suspend certain deadlines and procedures, allow parties to participate remotely in proceedings, and take other reasonable steps to avoid exposing court proceedings to the threat of the coronavirus. This Order expires May 8 unless extended. As a result, Courts throughout Texas are issuing orders to adjust their schedule in response to the current health crisis.  For example, Dallas County Courts have suspended all civil jury trials until May 8. In addition, we are monitoring court specific orders and policies that may apply to your specific case and will keep you apprised should these deadlines affect the progress of your case. As always, in the interim, we will continue to vigorously represent your interest while adhering to the Courts’ mandates.

We wish your families continued safety and good health and urge you to take the precautionary measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and create plans for your own families.

As always, please feel reach out to any member of our team should you have any case specific questions or concerns.

Wishing you good health,

Jeff Rasansky
