Houston, TX (February 13, 2021) – An accident reported in the Houston area on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a young girl. At approximately 3:15 p.m., on February 12, the Houston Police Department responded to the scene of a three-vehicle collision on US Highway 290.
Reports from the HPD show that a green Ford pickup truck ran the red light at the intersection of US Highway 290 and Bingle Road. As a result, the Ford crashed into a Toyota minivan. The impact of the crash pushed the minivan into a second vehicle.
A child inside the minivan, who was identified as a 2-year-old girl, was ejected from the minivan. The young girl was rushed to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
An adult female and a second child in the van, as well as two other people, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Police confirmed that the driver of the Ford showed signs of intoxication. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
