Reports provided by authorities show that a bicyclist was riding on the westbound lanes of East Highway 71. As the adult rider approached the 1500 block of Texas 71, they were struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Crews with the Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the site of the crash and immediately declared the victim deceased. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
