At around 3:30 a.m., on February 8, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 83. Reports indicate that a black Nissan SUV and a garbage truck collided along the roadway.

A woman inside the SUV suffered serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, an 8-year-old girl inside the SUV suffered fatal injuries. She was transported to Starr County Memorial Hospital where she was later declared deceased.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Rio Grande City, TX (February 9, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Saturday claimed the life of a young child and left one woman injured.

At around 3:30 a.m., on February 8, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 83. Reports indicate that a black Nissan SUV and a garbage truck collided along the roadway.

A woman inside the SUV suffered serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
