Austin, TX – Javier Elijah Garcia ID’d as W Rundberg Ln Victim

Austin, TX (February 1, 2020) – On January 30, around 9:40 a.m., a major motor vehicle accident took place on West Rundberg Lane. Reports indicate that a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east along the roadway at the same time as a 1999 Toyota Camry was traveling south along Mearns Meadow Boulevard, preparing to turn east onto West Rundberg Lane.

At the same time, a 2015 Buick LaCrosse was traveling north along Collinfield Drive, at the intersection of West Rundberg Lane, while a 2018 Ford Mustang and 2004 Ford Expedition were both stopped facing west at the same intersection.

As the Silverado, Camry, and LaCrosse entered into the intersection, the Silverado collided with both other vehicles. The impact of the collision caused debris to fly off and strike the Expedition as the LaCrosse crashed into the Mustang.

Two victims inside the Silverado and two victims in the Camry were all transported to Dell-Seton for treatment.

The driver of the Buick, who was identified as 18-year-old Javier Elijah Garcia, was rushed to Dell-Seton Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
